For people who wish to have aircon and want to book accomodation at the Ibis, do you know of any pre-arranged discount, or reserved rooms in the name of nznog, or anything like that ?

The alternative recommendation is therefore the Ibis in town. Again, I have never stayed or even been in it, but it has been strongly recommended to me as a nice place that isn't too expensive. It is in the central city and handy to all sorts of late night establishments.
