Free as in speech or Free as in Beer?
Whatever rocks your boat :) That was a suggestion based on a tutorial I wrote for NANOG a while ago: http://www.nanog.org/mtg-0210/abley.html All the scripts there were BSD-licenced, I think (with the possible exception of things like graphviz, which AT&T might have released under something different). It turned out that I wasn't actually able to attend that meeting, so someone else presented it. We also organised and held a "toolmakers" BOF at that meeting, designed for script hackers to swap horror stories and tales of great awk heroism, which apparently was fun. If nznog script wranglers need an excuse to get together in a room and drink beer (surely not) we could do the same thing in July.
I'd be happy to help out/swap notes with anyone doing

We're saying the same thing, I think. Joe
