Hey Pieter, This is not the response I have received from various people within the provider, Last I spoke with them, an implementation plan is in the works. Orcon are definitely not hiding behind the lack of CPE support, I have supporting CPEs available to me, however I'm looking to create firmware that makes them more generally available to 'joe public'. Not directed at you, but hiding behind the fact that the CPE doesn't support it is no excuse. People that really want the service will go out and buy CPE's that work with it (like myself) we just need to be given the option. I also currently tunnel my IPv6 but ended up on he.net, 280ms ping is not nice :) (Yes I can move to sixxs but I'd prefer native) Cheers, Pieter On Thu, 17 Mar 2011, Cameron Bradley wrote:

The main problem at the moment is a lack of a CPE that properly supports IPv6, my attempts to build custom firmware for BCM63xx modems has been largely thwarted for now by Dynalink/Netcomm's failure to provide proper board definitions in their GPL released source code (it boots, but doesn't identify the board properly) If anyone wants to donate their old ADSL2+ (preferably Broadcom based, working or bricked) modems to the cause, please email me offlist. The resulting firmwares will be made available to all.
Cheers, Cam

http://www.inspire.net.nz/ are talking the clear technical lead from my observation. That's not to say that others aren't.
See: www.ipv6.org.nz for more information about what's happening in .nz
There is a technical mailing list. Get posting your technical questions. They're very helpful and it helps the guys to understand where energy needs to be put to continue to support early adopters.

Hi List,
I am looking at moving ISPs because of the recent standing of my current ISP with regards to IPv6. In a nutshell, I was informed that they will not support/give out IPv6 until they have used up the current IPv4 allocations......"great"
So now I am hunting an ISP, with at least some decent phone plans and that supports IPv6, even if it's part of a beta plan. That cuts out xnet/wxc :(
I find it hard to believe that we are so close to IPv6 day and we only have one ISP in NZ that will give out native IPv6....
I know this is more of a technical list, but I don't know where else to turn. Google search came up blank :(
Thanks,
