*Look for the helping opportunity near the end of the message* Hi Everyone, This year, InTAC is being held in Wellington as part of NetHui 2013. You can register online at http://nethui.eventbrite.co.nz. What: InTAC (the Internet Technical Architecture Conference) When: Monday 8 July, 2013 Where: Wellington Town Hall Cost: Free (Registration required) Why should I attend? The New Zealand Internet is like a huge super tanker. The bad news is that it takes a long time to change course if you don't like the direction you're headed. The good news is the earlier you start making those changes the smaller the changes need to make. The InTAC conference will be more than just a collection of technology presentations. This year InTAC will be a collaborative environment designed to focus on outcomes as well as the discussions needed to bring them about. InTAC this year will take a long term view driven by short term actions. The focus of the conference will be around answering the following questions: "What do we want the New Zealand Internet to look like in 5 years?” “What are the 5 actions the industry can perform in the next 5 months to make that future more likely?" Don't miss out on your chance to be part of the technical decisions facing the direction of the New Zealand Internet for the next 5 years. *** Helping opportunity *** I'm also looking for people/organisations to show the attendees a little bit about what they are doing across the next 5 years. To that end if you want to produce me a 2 minute youtube video of any of the following topics, I'll select some to play during the day in order to get attendees heads into that forward looking mode: . What you're up to which has something to do with the Internet (even if it's just a blog to help people find lost cats) . What you need the NZ Internet to provide you (what doesn't it do at the moment that you need it to?) . What you'd be able to provide others if the NZ Internet was just a little different (If it did this, I could save more cats.) . Anything else you think the conference might like to know/hear *** For those keen to stick around for NetHui - being held 8 to 10 July in Wellington - we encourage you to also register for this at http://nethui.eventbrite.co.nz Looking forward to seeing you there. Regards, Dean Pemberton Technical Policy Advisor InternetNZ
