is this event still taking place? If so, do I need to register and what time is my speaking slot? At one level I'd be mostly content if everyone had a good laugh at: https://blog.apnic.net/2020/01/22/bufferbloat-may-be-solved-but-its-not-over... and reminisce about a time where a speaker could still physically push "people as packets" around, and was out there busily upgrading their networks to run fq_codel and cake everywhere, and testing/deploying mikrotik's support https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?t=179307 latest OS... At another level I'm rather interested in what y'all would like me to talk to as to current progress vs a vs bufferbloat. There's been a lot of work on making lte behave better, over here, for example: https://forum.openwrt.org/t/cake-w-adaptive-bandwidth/108848 progress in a lot of products (eero 6 finally got gigE SQM), better latency controls notably in the galene.org and signal's webrtc implementations, and so on.... I am just getting over the flu and haven't put much for slides together yet. I'm interested in newer problems - like gpon flow control, other efforts to leverage openwrt in particular, and would be content to say hi from across the pacific and hear of newer networking pain points. I just gave away the highlights of my current slides above. :0 I could do a tutorial-ish on how to use the flent.org benchmarking tool... let me know. Hi all!
Late last year we posted the list of talks for the upcoming NZNOG Conference 2022 on the website. http://www.nznog.org/nznog-2022/talks We’ve got a fantastic amount of local content - thank you to all our speakers (both local, and overseas) for stepping up, there’s some really interesting talks lined up. There are a few talks not (yet) on that list, but should give you a good picture of the talks you’ll see.
The programme schedule will be published closer to the conference.
Registrations are progressing really well - thanks to all who’ve registered so far. If you’re planning to come to NZNOG 2022, please remember to register. Start here: http://www.nznog.org/nznog-2022
For those unable to attend, NZNOG 2022 will (as always) be available via streaming - but of course the best experience will be in person.
We look forward to seeing you there!
