Greetings all - Forwarded on behalf of the Chair: ================== Implementation of a competitive shared registry system for .nz: The SRS IOC is pleased to release its Green Paper on implementation of a competitive shared registrar system for .nz. This Green Paper sets the context in which the issue arises, discusses the steps taken by ISOCNZ to date, and lists the various options for action and their consequences. After a period of time to permit further comment, which is now solicited, the IOC will prepare a White Paper which will make selections from the various options, and chart the implementation course, including operational responsibilities, a timetable, and a budget. Because of the time taken to date, and the extensive consultation which has occurred, the consultation period for this Green Paper will therefore close on Friday, 16 February 2001. Between that time and 4 March 2001, the IOC will draft the White Paper. It will, in this period, take such further advice, and conduct such further consultations as it believes appropriate. On Monday, 5 March 2001 the White Paper will be presented to Council at a special meeting convened for the purpose of reviewing the White Paper. By Monday, 19 March Council will have voted on the implementation of the White Paper. By then, a Project Implementation Manager should have been appointed, and implementation should commence." Kind regards, Peter Dengate Thrush Chair, ISOCNZ ============== To read the Green Paper please go to: http://www.isocnz.org.nz/consult/ A new mailing list has been set up for this consultation.
