Netgate is an operating name for a service of Telecom NZ. I don't think there is any doubt that if anybody owns Netgate, Telecom NZ does :)
Providers who connect to Netgate will know that its a Telecom NZ owned service. They get these regular peices of paper from them demanding money :-)
However, most other folk may not know. Netgate, NZGATE, NZIX are words which get thrown around and I can see there is general confusion about what they mean.
I take your point; however, I was under the impression that this agenda item was concerned with the NZGATE issues rather than as an introduction to tier-1 service providers in New Zealand :)
Notice I said "can" and not "should" :)
I think we should always apsire to do what "should be done" rather than whats possible. It helps stretch our minds a little :-)
My point was rather that I am wary of ISOCNZ being a body suitable to
dictate what _should_ be done on this issue. Its members are more than
qualified to discuss what _can_ be done, however.
