Further information. The bounce was sent to us by a client of ours as they had no idea why it was happening (rather ambiguous error message dont you think). I then emailed the target address(a)telecom.co.nz (one of them) as a test and requested an acknowledgement. No bounce... but no acknowledgement at this point. I assume by the fact that youre recieving email that the problem appears to be isolated to the telecom.co.nz MTA and its ability to talk to our client MTA at QSI. I will contact Donald directly see if he can help us out. Mark. - QSI Helpdesk. At 13:49 9/10/01 +1300, Donald Neal wrote:
Lin,
I'm getting email to a telecom.co.nz address without any unusual delay.

Date: 5 Oct 2001 02:30:35 -0000 Hi. This is the qmail-send program at monkey.qsi.net.nz. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
: Sorry, I wasn't able to establish an SMTP connection. (#4.4.1) I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.
