Simon, Sorry, but not to my knowledge. We are also no longer maintaining that file, so even if you could get to the ftp site (which is still there), the file would be out of date. If one of the other ISPs out on the NZIX wants to make the information available, they could. But because Waikato Uni is trying to get into the business of being a Uni, all of this sort of stuff is being dropped all over the place. Regards, Geoff. Simon Blake wrote:
Afternoon all
On a related question, has the information in
ftp://ftp.waikato.ac.nz/pub/netinfo/nzgate/docs/nzip.latest
moved somewhere else?
Cheers Si

Can anyone tell me what has happened to sunsite.net.nz? It's been unreachable for several weeks now.
As I use the gnu mirror there, I have in the meantime put one up at ftp://ftp.clear.net.nz/mirrors/ftp.gnu.org/ -- it will probably take several hours before it is in sync with the master.
Chris,
Due to Waikato and Vic pulling out of the Sunsite project, the service has been taken down (as per our notifications to the 20/20 trust). We are still waiting on the trust to take away the hardware, and run up the service elsewhere.
I was going to suggest that you use 'ftp.waikato.ac.nz' (which was the same host, but has now moved onto a separate box), however, I've just learnt that we've restricted access to that to Campus only users, so it wouldn't help you anyway.
As to when Sunsite returns in a new home, I'm unsure. The 20/20 Trust have been 'working' on relocating it for some time now, due to Waikato informing them that we no longer wished to host the site early to mid last year. We have followed the notification period, as per required in our contract with the trust. But it has been a number of weeks since the service was removed, and are yet to hear anything from the trust.
