Jamie does raise an interesting point. I have been guilty of posting
situations vacant adverts to this list in the past, for goverance roles
within InternetNZ - which are definitely not network operations roles,
but
responses from this list have sometimes been more useful than
traditional
advertising, I guess because many on the list know people who would have
suitable skills and expertise and knowledge of the "InternetNZ" way...
But I think the original posting expressed some concern that it might
end up
luring staff away from his operation. My guess here is that if people
are
scanning the sits vacants, they are already not happy in their current
role
and looking to move on regardless, so the upshot is its best for all
parties.
Further, at least I qualify the adverts I place with the proviso that I
will
provide beer to those offended by the ads, and I have some debts to pay
in
Dunedin next year...
