Dear Jeff, I have been prompted to look at some of your previous posts to mailing lists, and I wouldn't be surprised if there is an issue between you and Andy. Anyway, Andy's message about "filters" was in relation to filtering out messages about the conference, and nothing to do with filtering "Name calling" or whatever issue I don't care about and would like this whole thing to stop here becuase there seems to be some politics that I was totally unaware of and don't want to be apart of or let the can of worms open any further. I don't call anyone names because I have a difference of opinion to them. But if Andy cares to apologise to me I will forget the whole thing and it will be like it never happened. Could any more discussion on the matter be handled in private as I am sure the rest of the list has better things to concern themselves with, and I don't want to fill their mail boxes up, the very same thing I complained about. Best regards, Michael Hallager
Thank you for the acalaid, but it was not deserved. I was eluding to your assertion in response to Andy's name calling post to your dislike for that sort of nonsense. I agreed to part of your original response in that proposing a proposal in comparison ot in stead of what is currently being proposed is much better than just name calling, as Andy did towards you ( now twice). But Andy was also correct in that deploying a personal filter to those sorts of persistent "Name Callers" on ML that Andy seem to haunt, is also a very good suggestion as well.

Hi all,
Jeff has raised a very good point. I would like to apologise to the people organising the conference for making a comment without also providing an idea/contribution.
My idea is this:
There is many people on the list, and few who are contributing in regards to the conference. My non-contributing is not through apathy or disinterest, but rather because I am happy with learning whatever someone else cares to contribute to a conference. Eg: I have no preferences myself on subject. My idea is that the people who have lots to discuss and ideas, do so in private, and then come back with a list, which we can vote on. The reasoning behind this is that the "ideas" get discussed (And voted on?) at a piticular point in time, rather then ongoing where things could get involved and ideas/contributions can be forgotten/misplaced.
Best regards,

Michael and all,
Micheal, I am in part in agreement with you. However deploying your own Mail filters to keep your inbox clear of the "Andy Gardners" of the internet ML's is a very good suggestion. However debating the issue endlessly is a bit over the top and your suggestion of coming up with a proposal different than what is being considered that others can get behind is also a good suggestion that you provided as well.

However I am somewhat sick and tired of the large amount of E-Mail this has generated in my inbox. (30+ messages per day).
I would anticipate attending the conference to learn more about something, however I would prefer that the minority who wish to have a protracted debate on what this "something" is could do so in private, and then when they have made their mind up- then send the ideas to the list. Any comments?
Take a chill pill, or learn what mail filters are for.
If you can't handle deleting 30 mail messages a day, you're a GIRL.
