Use IOS c5200-i-l.113-9.T.bin, and modem firmware 2.7.1.0 and you should not have a problem. I still testing ios 12.0. -----Original Message----- From: Russell Street [mailto:russells(a)auckland.ac.nz] Sent: Thursday, 23 September 1999 13:58 To: tonyw(a)iconz.co.nz Cc: russells(a)auckland.ac.nz; nznog(a)list.waikato.ac.nz Subject: Re: cisco AS5200 with V.90 modems...
... Microcom vs MICA ...
Yes they are MICA modems. Somewhere in the dim dark past we had Microcoms, but were upgraded in preperation for K56flex and whatever the standard turned into. From memory our AS5200 was ordered 56k capable and so it was a zero-cost upgrade if it happened before a cut off date.
Mica modems with 2.7.1.0 firware and 113.9 oos work well, Microcom modems are so bad they are unusable on v90. Give me a call and I'll give you all the details.
Hmmmm... In the release notes for the 2.7.1.0 firmware it says: Note Cisco MICA Portware Version 2.7.1.0 is not backward compatible. You must be running V.110 and Cisco IOS 12.0(4)XI1, 12.0(5)T, or higher to use Cisco MICA version 2.7.1.0. If you are using an earlier Cisco IOS release or are using V.90 or V.34, refer to Release Notes for Cisco MICA Portware Version 2.6.2.0 on Cisco AS5X00s. Any ideas what gives there?
