Apologies if this breaches the charter. I had a read and felt it was close enough but happy to accept any feedback.
Just mention you were drinking beer and everyone will be happy
Also if somebody knows of a supplier with in country supplies of chassis / standalone TrendNET and Transition Networks media converters (fixed laser and SFP Types) could they please let me know off list.
Transition Network is Tyco Electronics in Auckland - Chris Madden. CityLink and most telcos will have oodles of the old and ancient racks. The early ones just took modules in slots. I often adapted by using cards and just plugged in 12v power packs and used them "naked". The modules are just cards out of the tin box. What media converters do you need ? And so everyone else gets to know.....Tyco often send me kit thats not moving. The Bean Counters want to dump it, so they send it my way to pass on to schools and other worthy causes. So if anyone needs weird media converters and has no budget, give me a holla. There are some Transition pockets here, along with modules and cards. All sorts, including some funny switches for FTTH deployment etc with "last gasp" features. "worthy causes" is anyone who mentions beer. People who give me beer get higher ratings Rich
