Joe, Matt and all, Well Joe one has to wonder about the creditability of someone spreading FUD when their own web page http://www.noise.net.nz/ is "Seriously Under Construction". Enough said???!! Hummmm? >;) I now yet again put back on my flame suit and ready my FUD repellent! !Dr. Joe Baptista wrote:

FWIW, Joe Baptista is another net.kook troll. (Try a google for net.kooks - most amusing...)
I'm considering just procmail'ing all content from either !Dr Baptista, or Jeff.
Responding is what they want from us.
I don't want that from you - I say procmail me immediately. Don't even give it second thought.
But you have put me in a position where i have to defend myself. The net kook charges are correct. this story you have pointed to was a setup story developed by myself and major tom.
in fact Major Tom who complained about me in the article - wrote a lovely article about me which unfortunately is no longer available at the eff - but you get the jist of it from the subject index at the eff.
http://www.eff.org/Activism/FOIA/..#files
i got the net kook designation when i told ont.general the newsgroup that i was going to terminate existing freedom of information legislation in the province of ontario by engaging government system resources. everyone laughted.
then i engaged them - the FOI commissioner had his first ever public hearing resulting in an order which terminated FOI in the province of ontario - canada - i.e.
http://www.ipc.on.ca/english/orders/orders-m/m-618.HTM
above you will find the order that has had every journalist in canada crying and complaining that they no longer have access to information. they blame me of course - and the comissioner in charge of the ipc disappeared for a few years only to show up again as an appeals officer for the used auto department. in the civil service that sort of appointment is a demotion.
of course the ramifications of order m-618 are enormouse - i.e. see:
http://search.ipc.on.ca/query.html?col=content&col=orders&col=privacy&ht=0&qp=&qt=m-618&qs=&qc=content+orders+privacy&pw=100%25&ws=0&la=en&qm=0&st=1&nh=10&lk=1&rf=0&rq=0&si=0 i have also had police chiefs fired. have had extensive newpaper reporting in canada of my activities - yada yada yada.
now i'm involved in opening up the top level domain system - i.e. dns - which see:
http://www.internetnews.com/wd-news/article/0,,10_364761,00.html
and there's a technical issue we could all really sink our teeth into.
so matt - in the end - if i'm a kook - then i'm a happy, busy and very productive kook - but one thing i am not and that is boring. something i accuse you of being.
now matt - a word of advice - if you must subject us to this constant drivel about jeff williams and joe baptista - may i suggest you take this off topic discussion to alt.fan.joe-baptista - my personal newsgroup - just for you. I hereby appoint you moderator of it and by default make you the king of kooks.
enjoy the crown - and now i beg of you - lets get back to good ol boring technical drivel - thats my interest in being here. not wet nursing someone like you in the hope you get back on topic.
regards joe
