Slow work over a 56K modem, isn't it?
56k would be marvelous. I'm 7km from the CO, and I'm lucky if I can sustain 33k6. I could describe how this feels after having spent the last year on the end of a 3M/640k ADSL circuit, 22ms RTT from Chicago, but I don't want to offend anybody's delicate sensibilities.
Since all kinds of people have sent me mail in concerned confusion, let me clarify: + maggie.automagic.org, the box which is collecting BGP stats, is on 10M colo in the Sky Tower (thanks to Quicksilver Internet). + I, personally, at my house in Ontario, am 7km from the CO and am battling with some kind of "absense of broadband internet options in rural areas" fiasco that I had heard previously heard vague talk of, and am now somewhat distressed to discover is real. No v.34 is involved in donating BGP sessions to maggie :) Joe --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
