This is really interesting in how it relates to the active de-peering of New Zealand’s two largest ISP’s 10+ years ago. We still have the situation where the gang of two demand paid peering and everyone just has to accept it as a fact. I am guessing that just as the gang of two have installed Akamai and Google caches they will install Netflix (and Hulu?) caches once these guys pry some content rights off Sky, but it is still quite incredible that the existing streaming providers (I assume) need to pay to deliver this content only to these two providers as they are big enough to strong arm them.
