surely there's a better way involving parsing a BGP feed or two?
Grab the Originating ASNs from an APE/WIX feed, then look for those in
an international feed. Grab the 1 up adjacencies and assert they are
upstream. Then it's coding that data into pretty graphics.
But surely this has been done before??

plonk in an IP or two that you know belongs to the ISP in question and
this does a reasonable job of figuring things out. But YMMV.
