We run at T.Com DIA link here - from my end it appears that the primary DNS server (202.27.184.3) is down - I can get service only using their secondary James Butler IT Admin NewJobZ _________________________________________________________________ Check out news, entertainment and more @ http://xtra.co.nz/broadband

All (or at least, most) of their customers seem to be having DNS issues as well. I'm seeing significantly reduced traffic to our sites, consistent with a customerbase the size of Xtra's being out of action. From talking to a friend who is an Xtra customer it seems that neither of the automatically assigned DNS servers for JS (and other?) customers are working. Neither is alien.xtra.co.nz, although terminator.xtra.co.nz is up. Looks like a major network fault at Xtra, though their network status page still cheerfully reports "there are no known problems with the Xtra network". (Fortunately the recorded message on their support line confirms otherwise.) -Simon
Yes have checked out the status message on xtras site.
At least the phone message is up to date.
I am interested to know how many other ISPs are effected by this.
Must be a major at Telecoms end.
Seems to have started at around 10am yesterday!

Was around 7:50am actually.
That's when the Wellington RAN was experiencing problems and a lot of
customers were booted., although this slowly came up around 10am.
I see theres still a lot of the Xtra sites are unavailable.

J

What makes you say that ? actually, dont bother answering this question. You are incorrect in your assumption.

Then no doubt they will be working on it, maybe you could ring them and ask for updates instead of posting this stuff to the list.
