Fire in Auckland data centre
Just heard of a fire in an Auckland datacentre. Does anyone know how severe? http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10765546 -Joel
If it's only five appliances, it can't be very serious. That's the base response to a fire alarm in that area.
That said, smoke and water are their own kinds of damaging entirely independently of fire itself.

It was a second alarm fire, due to smoke showing from the building. Apparently a UPS and connected batteries melted down, and sprinklers went off On 12/11/2011 5:26 p.m., Matthew Poole wrote:
