That's not to say we aren't thinking of ways to catalogue and measure the benefits of having the exchanges. Perhaps measures of the round trip times between various points on the network would be of more interest.

Or possibly just place "beacon" devices - whether servers or SAA-capable routers - at the exchange points so people can run their own tests to a point attached to the exchange but outside their own networks? Except that measuring time to a beacon at the exchange on it's own won't indicate if traffic from user A to user B would go via a sane path through the exchange. It would be good to have as part of the strategy.
