NZNOG People, UniForum NZ have announced to their members that their conference this year will run 11-14 July at a hotel near Auckland Airport. (This is the last few days of the school holidays.) The small amount of directly relevant feedback I have received suggests a preference for an event in Auckland, with some people keen to be part of a UniForum conference. Unless I hear objections from people who would otherwise attend, I intend to try to arrange for NZNOG involvement in that conference. A condition of this would be that people are able to register only for days on which NZNOG appears (though other things may well be going on at the same time). These are tentatively Thursday 11th and Friday 12th. We're not yet at the stage where registration costs can be set, but discussion on this list seems to suggest that $100/day is acceptable for those not presenting. If there are objections to this, I'd like to hear now. If not, I intend to get back this week to the people who have offered to help with a view to confirming their interest given these specific dates. It is not my intention that any detailed organisational work be done using this list, but progress announcements can be expected from time to time.
