Hi Folks, We've got two routers on the WIX, and were happy establishing them via the form here: http://www.citylink.co.nz/cgi-bin/wixape.pl?tmpl=wix.tmpl We'd like to update the networks we're advertising, but seem to be hitting a brick wall as to how to do it. Is there another form online somewhere for making changes? TIA, Jon Brewer
Chuck an email to noc(a)citylink.co.nz with your updated prefix lists - the guys there will do it for you. Send it to peering(a)citylink.co.nz. Please include your AS, the router(s) IP addresses and the prefixes you want added/deleted. These help us find the right details here to update. The WIX servers have over 130 listed peers so when we have to look up all your details it slows the process down. Ideally you'd look up your details in the database and send us a changed route-set record, e.g. Craig just had some details added to the WIX for his AS17474 which saw this posted to nznog to let people know it had happened: route-set: AS9439:RS-ROUTES:AS17474 descr: Route set advertised to AS9439 by ConceptNET - AS17474 members: 202.150.96.0/20^20-29, 203.97.44.0/24^24-29, 202.49.250.0/24^24-29, 202.50.176.0/24^24-29, 202.127.8.0/22^22-29 admin-c: RPA1-NZRR tech-c: RPA1-NZRR notify: rpsl-admin(a)wix.net.nz notify: nznog(a)list.waikato.ac.nz notify: craig(a)concept.net.nz mnt-by: MAINT-NZRR-NZ changed: rpsl-admin(a)wix.net.nz 20040908 source: NZRR Now let's say he wanted to withdraw 202.50.176.0/24. If he sent us the object: --- route-set: AS9439:RS-ROUTES:AS17474 descr: Route set advertised to AS9439 by ConceptNET - AS17474 members: 202.150.96.0/20^20-29, 203.97.44.0/24^24-29, 202.49.250.0/24^24-29, 202.127.8.0/22^22-29 admin-c: RPA1-NZRR tech-c: RPA1-NZRR notify: rpsl-admin(a)wix.net.nz notify: nznog(a)list.waikato.ac.nz notify: craig(a)concept.net.nz mnt-by: MAINT-NZRR-NZ changed: rpsl-admin(a)wix.net.nz 20040908 source: NZRR --- then I'd only need to eyeball it and submit it and regenerate the configs. This stuff is all described on the RIPE and APNIC websites if you want to read more about how it works. Or he could send me a message like: ---- Can you remove 202.50.176.0/24 from the prefixes we announce to the WIX? --- Which would you prefer? (:-)

Andy - Is there any plans to allow others to submit new objects to the database via automagical e-mail, as with (most|many) other similar databases? -- Nathan Ward

Sure are. I'm happy to give users access to their own objects so that I don't have to do it! I need to write up exactly how to do make the transition. Nathan, want to be my guinea pig and we'll work out the process? Once we've got it worked out I'll publish the howto.
