Re: Auckland Neutral Peering Exchange

I believe the main stumbling block was that it was not a neutral exchange. We certainly are very interested in connecting to and helping to support a neutral exchange in Auckland.
Sounds reasonable. How about each provider draws up a list of expectations / requirements and post them to this list? That way we can see what things everybody thinks important, and thus determine what we *must* get right for everybody to get onboard. regards Peter Mott Chief Enthusiast 2Day Internet Limited http://www.2day.net.nz -/- --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

Here's a reference to an exchange that runs on a series of bilateral agreements. Joe has suggested this model and I support him on this. http://www.uni-c.dk/dix/ Would this be a good topic for a NOG meeting at Rotorua? andy -- Mailto:asjl(a)netlink.net.nz Tel: +64 4 494 6162 Post: Netlink, PO Box 5358, Lambton Quay, Wellington, New Zealand -- --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

Yes, I would have thought so. Although I am slightly scared of attending now, given the likely amount of beer that will be apparently forced down my throat within minutes of entering the bar :) --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

Mmmm. Interesting vision. Joe enters bar, is seized by hordes of weird network types anxious to pay their debt to society. They force him to the ground, someone produces a hose pipe with a funnel attached which they force down his throat. They then proceed to pour beer into the funnel until Joe swells up and explodes. The resulting tsunami drowns most of the network engineers in NZ and the Internet collapses. Those who survive retire to the upstairs bar to watch the movie at 11. --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
