Dell PowerConnect 3324/3348 switches.
Has anyone has had some good/bad experiences with these, especially compared to Cisco 2950 and similar? Most of the reviews seem fairly positive [1] , I'm looking at simply running a few boxes on 100Mb/s with a trunk or two, nothing fancy (though if you've played around with the cute features I'd be interested). The price seems pretty good. Email me direct and I can summarize if people want. [1] http://www.infoworld.com/article/03/10/24/42TCdell_1.html -- Simon J. I got a little bit of followup, Apparently they are re-badged Foundry EdgeIrons which should mean they are fairly okay, however one comment was: " One of my business partners who has lots of hands on experience with the EdgeIrons just told me that they are utter crap and should be avoided at all costs " Which is a concern since the Foundry ServerIrons are pretty good and I would have hoped their other lines would be equivalent. The Dell forums for the PowerConnects are fairly positive however. -- Simon J. Lyall. | Very Busy | Mail: simon(a)darkmere.gen.nz "To stay awake all night adds a day to your life" - Stilgar | eMT.
