Thanks for your opinion Chris, however Cisco, the number 1 manufacturer of dial servers in the world would be happy to give Martin a hand to sort this out ;-) ps. We make more switches than routers now. I'm trying to put on an access server cisco as5200 with support 56kbps. I probed three IOS version (11-3.9T, 11-3-9A and 12.0.1) with different modems (mica) firmwares (2.3.1.0, 2.6.2.0, 2.7.2.0) in differents combinations.
1) you do realise this is a _New Zealand_ Network operators group right?
but the AS works horrible !
2) you've hit the nail on the head. Ditch the crappy Cisco dial in servers and get some Lucent gear (A Max6000 should do what you want). Cisco should stick to routers. Interesting... http://www.delloro.com/PRESS/PressReleases/WAN020300MULTI.shtml http://www.delloro.com/PRESS/PressReleases/RR05001.shtml Your growth is good but still not topping lucent yet. *shrug* I suppose I should have specified "I personally don't like the cisco line of access products and find them to be more troublesome to install and set up then their lucent counterparts." A blanket "Cisco suck" (as I have had pointed out to me in private e-mail) probably wasn't the best way to voice this. My apologies. Nothing a good procmail useless noise-filtering script wouldn't fix, I'm thinking. Tim J.
