NZNOG 2008 - Call for Lightning Talks ===================================== The NZNOG 2008 call for lightning talks is now open! Lightning talks are scheduled for 9am sharp, this Friday 25 January. Lightning talks are short talks/presentations on relevant topics that last no more than 10 minutes. They may be as quick as one minute. This time limit is strictly enforced. Talks on topics that are timely, interesting, or a little crazy, are invited. If you've thought about presenting at a future NZNOG, a lightning talk this year is a great place to start! The use of slides is not required although most people choose to use them. Speakers typically prepare three or four slides. Ideally you will provide final slides in PDF format so we can present of a common laptop. If you have other applications or anything special you wish to use in your presentation, you are welcome to use your own laptop, but please be ready for a speedy setup. To submit a proposal for a Lightning Talk, send an email to nznog08(a)jonnynet.net *** Proposals are due by 3pm Thursday 24 January, so hurry *** You can find some useful advice on giving Lightning Talks at: http://www.justanotherperlhacker.org/lightning/ http://perl.plover.com/lt/lightning-talks.html http://www.metaart.org/maca/perl/lightning/lightning_what.html Thanks!
