there is nothing off topic about this discussion - let me capsulate it for you. the list admins asked that we discuss his plan. I'm in complete support of it - so are many others. then people began to discuss filtering as a viable option as opposed to moderation - and i responded to that and pointed out it does not work. certainly nothing off topic in that, unless of course you advocate the political philosophy of "animal farm" - i.e. all people are equal - but some more equal then others :). regards joe

i know this well and so does jeff. example - you filter me out - or jeff - or whomever it may be you choose to filter - then some third party begins the drivel about jeff williams. well - you end up on the receiving end of the drivil from the third parties. in most cases filtering ends up causing confusion. you would essentially have to filter out everyone who is speaking about jeff williams - and that in my opinion is counter productive.
