Following up on the lightning talk I just gave in Rotorua: The IETF is concerned that we're not getting enough operator input at the time it counts: when specifications are being developed, years before they come out in software or hardware. There's been an effort to investigate the reasons for this problem, prior to trying to fix it. Everybody involved in Internet operations is welcome - indeed needed - to contribute.
