Hi Folks, On behalf of the Trustees, I'm very pleased to announce that from the 23rd-27th of January 2017 the conference will be held in the Bay of Heaps, or more specifically, Tauranga. The venue is http://www.trinitywharf.co.nz - A couple of the trustees have visited the venue and they report it is a great spot. I know I'm looking forward to seeing you all there. I encourage all of you that are planning on going to book accomodation now. Book early and book often. We'll have more information up on the website soon about accomodation options. We'll let you know when that's up. I'll say it again, book now. At the venue, down the road, your mates place, whatever - it's the Bay of Plenty in January. You get the idea. For those of you out there seeking to sponsor this conference, then please get in touch with us via sponsorship(a)nznog.org (subject: sponsor)- we'd love to hear from you. For our good friends and sponsors from previous years, I'll be getting in touch with you next week. As always we sincerely appreciate your support. Now that we've got the venue sorted out we'll be sorting out registrations and all the rest of it which brings me to: --------- *Program Committee:* Once again we'll also need to assemble a program committee. Eligible PC candidates are those who have attended NZNOG conferences in the recent past, have broad technical knowledge of Internet operations, and have reasonable familiarity with the format of NZNOG conferences. PC members are expected to work actively to solicit content for the event and review submissions for technical merit. What the PC do and come up with is the most important thing for the whole conference. If you are interested in joining the PC send a brief note to "trustees at nznog.org". The note should include affiliation (if any) and contact details, and a brief description of why you would make a good addition to the PC. PC members receive complimentary registration for the event. ------------ Finally, can I just add that in what seems to be an ongoing climate of consolidation and acquisition, now is the time for all operators to get together to discuss what smart new things need to happen to keep moving the packets faster and better. There is always a better way. Cheers Jamie Baddeley on behalf of the NZNOG Trust.
Maybe they're sold out (seems unlikely), or their backend is misconfigured. If you expand 'Show Rates', it shows that that pricing is applicable to the 'Garden & Arts Festival Accommodation Deal ', which presumably packages other costs. Oddly, that festival is supposed to occur in November. If you change the dates to October, it comes back with Superior Twin for $198 per night, or December, and it finds it for $188 per night, but that pricing doesn't appear at all in January 2017, so it displays the match it finds for the the garden and arts festival instead. Perhaps the Trustees can speak to the hotel and confirm they have rooms, and potentially arrange a NZNOG promo code On 25/06/2016 10:23 PM, Dean Pemberton wrote:

I know that staying at the venue is ideal but other accommodation is available.

When this was being negotiated with Trinity Wharf a few days back, there
was definitely accommodation available, at reasonable rates.
We'll come back to you re how to book accommodation at Trinity Wharf for
NZNOG within the next couple of days.

Reminder all:
It's
- Tauranga
- A Major holiday hotspot
- Good luck finding accommodation last minute in January.
At the three hotels listed below, I'd be surprised if any rooms are left by
December.
Suggest you book now.
Regards,
Jesse
