Greetings, I've just noticed that there's a new AWS region available today: Asia Pacific (Sydney). I would imagine we're going to start to see a trickle of commercial offerings shortly, followed by a rapid increase of data. Before I start probing an instance to find out where/who's connected, does anyone have inside clue about how well connected NZ networks are to this new region? Probing commences after beer. Jed.
We're a long time AWS user and have already set up instances in Sydney. We're seeing 26ms and throughput as fast as the access circuit can go.
Amazon are at connected at Equinix, so connectivity from NZ is pretty much as good as within NZ.
The AWS gateway is 54.240.192.115 if you want to trace/ping.
