We're a long time AWS user and have already set up instances in Sydney. We're seeing 26ms and throughput as fast as the access circuit can go. Amazon are at connected at Equinix, so connectivity from NZ is pretty much as good as within NZ. The AWS gateway is 54.240.192.115 if you want to trace/ping.
