the emails still going there are probably on spammers lists.... 97% of it will probably be spam... and who really wants spam going to their cellphones? :)

Hi All,

Does anyone know what the story is with the email domain airnote.co.nz ?

I seem to remember that a few years ago it was a domain run by Telecom that you could register for an email address for your 025 mobile and it would forward email to your mobile.

However for at least the last year (perhaps more) the designated mail exchanger (which seems to be overseas) has refused connections, thus causing any message to that domain to be retried for 5 days and then time out. Trying to go to www.airnote.co.nz now redirects you to some other Telecom page about "Yabba". (What does THAT have to do with the old airnote site ? :)

Anyone else notice stuff for this domain retrying in their outgoing queue all the time ? It was a fairly well known and used domain at one point...

If email for that domain really is dead and burried, perhaps someone in charge of it might think to change the records so that everyones mailservers don't waste 5 days trying to deliver messages there all the time....(and yes we get quite a few messages addressed @airnote.co.nz even now, don't ask me why :)
