Afternoon all. Just by way of a change on nznog, I thought I'd ask an operational question :-). Anybody know if there's weirdness going on at Clear? turtle:~$ telnet mx1.clear.net.nz 25 Trying 203.97.33.11... <insert long pause here> ^C turtle:~$ telnet mx2.clear.net.nz 25 Trying 203.97.37.11... telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused Similar behaviour from machines on Netlink, ICONZ, Paradise and Clear connections. mx2.clear.net.nz appears to be okay however. In theory we don't nag people if they have backup services. eg we don't rung Netgate every time we detect one of the links has fallen over (about twice per day) since they have several backups. On Fri, 9 Jun 2000, Simon Blake wrote:

Well, it's certainly working, I doubt they'll be getting significant spam :-). Cheers Si --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

Yeah, I get the same thing... It seems odd that mx(1|2).clear.net.nz seem to be sharing an IP address... I am guessing we won't get any answers from them, they aren't getting our mail :) Dylan Reeve - dylan(a)wibble.net "Um, yeah." --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

How do you work that out? they look different to me.

Undoubtedly :-) However, I suspect they aware of it, I imagine it's raining phone calls at Clear. Cheers Si --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

I work that out by being an idiot and not spotting the difference between a 37 and a 33 -- I am used to network servers being on the same class Cs... Oh well. Sure, my point was that from my perspective, neither of their mail servers is functional - and as of now, this is what I get (from boxes on Netlink, ICONZ, and Clear networks): turtle:~$ telnet mx1.clear.net.nz 25 Trying 203.97.33.11... telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused turtle:~$ telnet mx2.clear.net.nz 25 Trying 203.97.37.11... telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused Cheers Si --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

As Ben mentioned, these was an issue that has been resolved, things are a little slow right now as we wait for the load to drop and everything catch up (which should be later tonight). --cw -- Chris Wedgwood chris.wedgwood(a)clear.co.nz --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
We are experiencing mail delivery problems to renee.paradise.net.nz at this time. All mail addressed to domains for 2day.com is MX and happen to have forwarding enabled to a paradise mail account is held on our smtp servers until we can identify the cause.
