Subject: Outage in Wellington Just heard from one of our NOC team here that there seems to be a power outage in Wellington which has certainly affected Citilink (one of our links is down) and by the looks also Actrix (who dissapeared off the face of the map earlier this morning.)
Just in case anyone else is wondering why things are being a bit strange.

Yes, but not for outages of this length - unfortunately, it's kinda difficult to provide an infinite amount of backup power. Hurrah for generators and lenient parking wardens is all I can say. I was amazed my excuse worked. Still a van with a geny in the back and a few cords across the footpath might have indicated something outside the normal scope of "car parking". I think it was the other buildings with the cords out 4th floor windows and down the road that alerted him to something being not normal. He did suggest I should still feed the meter :) I offered a few spare KVA up his meter as a token gesture. *SNIP* This has overtones of AKL a few years ago. Did you guys learn how to have spectacular power outages too? :P -- Matthew Poole Network Engineer CallPlus, AKL, NZ NZ
Ahhh yes, the month that the cost of hiring a portable generator in Auckland
