In the spirit of Networking and Beer (Yep it's in the AUP), I'd just like to invite anyone who is in Wellington on Thursday along to Curry. A few of the networking people around town have been doing Thursday night curries for a few weeks now (ever since I flew in, maybe a bit before) and it's become a bit of a thing. If anyone wants to join us for Curry/Chat/Beer on Thursday, then get yourself to ThursdayNightCurry.com, check out the rules etc and we'll see you there. like to invite anyone who is in Wellington on Thursday along to Curry. Anyone keen for an Auckland version of this? Perhaps on a Tues or Wed night? There's a few places in Auckland that is quite good and parking isn't a problem.

For a modest setting, but with very good food indeed, I can recommend the food hall at Northcote shopping centre -- Thai, Malay, Indian, Japanese, Laotian, Chinese (different areas), Philipino... very good indeed. -- Juha Saarinen - To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

I may be missing something, but if the establishment doesn't have waiters that understand "Jonny's special naan bread", and don't serve Kingfisher Strong in pint bottles, then it probably doesn't qualify as a venue deserving of the thursdaynightcurry.com brand. Course, I'm here at home instead of out at the Curry anyway, so what would I know :-). On Thu, 27 Jun 2002, Juha Saarinen wrote: Well it appears that Thursday nights is the preferred choice. parking at is the Shahi in Ponsonby because it is on Jervois Rd. Also always enjoyed my meals there (last one was on Tues night). http://www.menus.co.nz/shahi/ The other is Diva in Mt Eden by the Valley Rd shops. I had that in mind because you can park around the area (eg valley shops parking). They have $10 curry(but not seafood curry) + rice on Mon - Wed evenings. Other nice places like Oh Calculta http://www.oc.co.nz/home.html and Shahi in Parnell have parking problems. I like Poppadom (Khyber pass, Newmarket) and hear Chutneys(parnell) http://www.chutneys.co.nz/ is good We could just try a different place each week 8)

If you are after foodcourt I think Food Alley is quite good. IN fact I believe that's probably one of the very few food courts where there's someone selling beer and other alcoholic beverages 8) However I don't think we are after foodcourt type of meal. The curry at the Force entertainment centre foodcourt is good value for money.
There's a few nice Thai restaurants/cafes that serve very nice and reasonable food too. regards Lin - To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

I hate to get all officious and everything, but this is severely off-topic. In order to remain within the charter of this list, beer at least has to be mentioned. It is not too late to say you wish to attend. If you just want to try your luck and turn up, make sure you get there by 7:45 or 8pm I have made a reservation for 10 even though only 7 will be there. If you haven't met any of us before, look for a chinese girl in a group of mainly male diners.
