This is not an RFP. Who transits packets over southern cross? - Asia Netcom - AS703 (I don't know what to call them, MCI/UUNet/Verizon/etc.) - Telecom NZ Global Gateway - Reach (?) - Sprint (?) Anyone else? Can someone confirm the last two? -- Nathan Ward
From NZ to the outside world or across SCCN in general? AS703 is Verizon Business these days. MMC On 29/08/2008, at 10:18 AM, Nathan Ward wrote:

You could try: http://www.ispmap.co.nz/topmap.html

While on topic, if you require updates to the map, send them through and I'll make the changes. If you want to be added, please supply all the information required, i.e. view one of the current providers and see what info we require. Thanks Barry
surely there's a better way involving parsing a BGP feed or two?
Grab the Originating ASNs from an APE/WIX feed, then look for those in
an international feed. Grab the 1 up adjacencies and assert they are
upstream. Then it's coding that data into pretty graphics.
But surely this has been done before??

http://asn.cymru.com/cgi-bin/whois.cgi
plonk in an IP or two that you know belongs to the ISP in question and
this does a reasonable job of figuring things out. But YMMV.

Last I knew TelstraClear has a POP over in California where they buy transit
from MCI/UUnet/whatever. They buy capacity on Southern Cross to get packets
there.

Further to this, if anyone has an AS703 transit circuit that lands in NZ, can you let me know? I need a few traceroutes, most people seem to prefer AS10026 so the various end points I can traceroute from go that way. ps. I've already tried Perry's thing. -- Nathan Ward
