Heads Up - Webcast tomorrow - TUESDAY
We have a webcast tomorrow - Tuesday 4 May 2004 NZ Wireless Data Forum conference at Te Papa. It appears that the organisers haven't put any URLS to the streams anywhere public, so I don't expect any traffic issues. But as usual Help Desks may get questions from users etc. Or you may have a few minutes free and want to see whats new in wireless stuff yourselves. http://www.r2.co.nz/20040504 If theres enough interest, we can use VideoNow (a camera and wireless laptop) to do a tour of the exhibition area to show what toys were on display. Need a time that suits. Theres no lunch break (S**T !!! when will we eat ? We're starting at 6:30am!) and the presentations go thru til 1630. May get someone else to drive that bit videonow is at http://www.r2.co.nz/20040414 rich

Are the streams being recorded for later after-the-event downloads at all?

That happend at the end of the first talk as well, only in this one - it was just as it got interesting. I have a suspiciion we entered NDA mode , there was a sudden lack of slides shown on the projector, lack of audio, only to come back as he says "thats all, any questions?". ho hum Mark

damn - caught !! was a simple patching problem. Thats what happens when a "simple" webcast gets into a show. Suddenly we're also running network cables for all sorts of folks.

I had both audio inputs on the same mixer, with the music and had them on different mix buses. I had to rely on cues from each camera op as to what was happening as listening to the intercom and 2 audio feeds is torture. Some cues weren't clear and in the rush the wrong level got adjusted. ie music for 1 was brought up over 1 stream instead of bringing up 2. Got to think how to make dual streams simpler. Can we handle more than 2 ? Needs some thinking. Thanks everyone for the comments. It wasn't a high profile webcast, but some interesting stuff. Videos will be up prob next week. rich

yes - altho the dvd-recorder threw a fit at one stage. May have lost a little, but I think it was a consultant. Am trying to get it done by friday, but a little tired. Started at 5:30am and got home at 8:30pm. Maybe monday ? rich
