Actually multicasting it, or just unicast streaming?
The latter, unless Rich has gained extra facilities while watching the fillies... Cheers Si

And only if RIch can get from AKL to HAM in time to get everyuthing set up and a public IP is available, etc. We also have minor logistics issues of getting the van close enough, running a lot of cables, power, etc. If everything goes OK, there MAY be 3 cameras (and operators) as well as a scan converter on the inevitable power point thingies. rich hot and sweaty after 3 days of 12 hours streaming sessions.

After a bit of playing around Rich and Simon seem to have got it all working. The streams are all available from: http://www.r2.co.nz/20040129/ We are currently trying to work on clearing up the sound but otherwise all is going well. Thanks heaps to Rich and all the Citylink guys for making this happen. All the captures are also being recorded and may be available later. Cheers, Jamie

The 128k stream looks very nice from Canada. It seems much better than the Real streams that have been shipped out from NANOG meetings in the last few years. Now all we need is the return channel so I can heckle Philip with anti-cisco rhetoric :-) Joe
And if Rich didn't insist upon carting around that known dodgy DLink switch, we'd have got Geoff Houston going a bit earlier as well. No matter, Rich is recording all the streams, so I imagine they'll be up r2.co.nz in the goodness of time. We had 12 viewers a few minutes ago, but I'm not sure they weren't all just Citylink staff wanting to see the light glinting off Carl's head :-) Cheers Si On Thu, Jan 29, 2004 at 03:28:32PM +1300, Jamie Curtis said:

Yes - all on DVD, but missed the start of Geoffs talk - couldn't climb over Si to get to DVD-R. Must get bigger van.....

Aye - it also helps if the speakers actually wear the lapel mic !! If you see me walk up and stick a mic on a speaker rather unceremoniously, you know why.... rich
