FYI - see you all there :) -----Original Message----- From: members-discuss-bounces(a)internetnz.net.nz [mailto:members-discuss-bounces(a)internetnz.net.nz] On Behalf Of Michael Sutton Sent: Wednesday, January 07, 2004 02:09 To: InternetNZ Members Discussion List Subject: [members-discuss] Announcement of IPv6 Test-bed [ InternetNZ and CityLink] and the NZNOG Big Geek Program 04 28-30 Jan 2004 Dear Members We are proud to let you know of our joint initiative with CityLink which will see InternetNZ provide funding necessary to enable a public access IPv6/IPv4 local Gateway and a one megabit low latency link for six months between APE6 and WIX6 for non commercial testing commencing in January 2004. Please read details at: http://www.internetnz.net.nz/communications/mr040105ipv6-test-bed.htm http://www.internetnz.net.nz/communications/mr040105ipv6-test-bed.htm CityLink will present this in operation at the NZNOG Big Geek Program 04, hosted by Waikato University. (28-30th) 3 days ~$120 Registration (discount until 9th January) http://www.nznog.org http://www.nznog.org . InternetNZ is a major sponsor of this conference and I shall attend presenting the technical case for Multicast enabling the New Zealand network as well as hosting a BoF on this Topic and network InterOperability initiatives which InternetNZ has been fostering over the past 6 months. At our last Council meeting it was agreed that we would also provide upto $2,500 of educational materials for this Conference. InternetNZ has ordered and is contributing technical books on how to enable Inter Domain Multicast services using Cisco and Juniper equipment. These will be distributed to those attending the Multicast BoF. If you can attend or help your engineers get some time to join us there we would really enjoy getting together and besides Roger DeSalis is sponsoring the Bar :) Peter Macaulay will also be there with other INZ councillors as he claims lineage as a proto-geek of the '60s :) Best regards Michael Sutton Councillor 2003-2004 Technical Committee Member. +64 21 305500

This sounds potentially interesting, although it's not possible from the press release to tell exactly what the hell it is :-) How about a technical description of what this is? Is it talking about RFC 3056/3068 6to4 gateways? Joe
