I'd be surprised if any IP network of non-trivial size doesn't have at least one fault in it, at any given time. If you want to find out whether other people are seeing the same fault you are seeing it's probably a good idea to describe it. Looks to me (from here) like there's some packet loss between dreamnet and snapnet, but since the reverse DNS is either missing or unhelpful once you get past Telecom's network, it's difficult to know for sure. (Since I'm feeling especially pedantic today, as you've noticed, asking questions like "does anyone know..." is just asking for replies which say, simply, "Yes". However, since this is an annoying and unhelpful thing to point out I'll just stick it at the bottom of the message, in brackets, and pretend that this somehow makes me a less tedious person.) It's Friday, here. You'll have to bear with me. Joe

Well, I'm here at iGRIN (ultimately going through Orcon), and can't reach news.xtra.co.nz or www.xtra.co.nz (all I've tried, admittedly), so I think there may be something slightly larger than 'trivial' going on over there. -k.
Hi All,
Problem being caused in an authentication error.
Any ideas would be great thanks

Too many collisions and not enough packet ambulances?
