Well NetGate has also withstood GMT with no hitches in reporting or traffic. Really our only issue was huge outbound traffic last night, other than that all's well. "Jan 02, 2000 at 01:34:11AM +1300" I didn't spot that one, but now that it has been pointed out to me, it's too good not to share :)

FWIW, I've not heard any reports of any Lucent/Ascend gear breaking loose from racks and attacking the general populace - though it's still 18:45 Friday the 31rst PST. I guess I'd notice if that were the case - there are one or two Maxes and TNTs on the planet. Now if I could just get past all these hippies clogging the "freeways" out of Berkeley and into the city... h e l l o b a y a r e a... -- Josh Bailey (joshbailey(a)lucent.com) "That Josh was a clever guy, but he didn't know much about IP." -- Anon. --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

Well is max boxes let us specify a timezone of UTC +1300 then we might bother runing ntp on them... or even better still a real timezone file, so we wouldn't have to change that 2 times a year. Last checked in 7.2.0 so I be pleasently surprised if it has been fixed in a later release. -- Simon Lyall. | Newsmaster | Work: simon.lyall(a)ihug.co.nz System/Network Admin | T&C Enforcement | Home: simon(a)darkmere.gen.nz The Internet Group, Auck. | Asst Doorman | Web: Currently Offline --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

1. Happy New Year. :-) 2. TAOS doesn't support NTP, with timezones, daylight saving et al. It supports only SNTP. If you would like TAOS to do NTP, sends us feature request, and we'll see what we can do. :-) -- Josh Bailey (joshbailey(a)lucent.com) "Josh is... at large" -- F.W. --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
