NZNOG 06 - Potential Hosts.
We are looking for potential hosts for NZNOG 06 in around a year's time. If you think that you ( or an organization you are associated with) might want to host nznog next year then you should probably start thinking seriously about it soon. We will probably send out a more formal call within the next week or two so the decision is made some time in March. We already have one early expression of interest. If you have questions about what is involved etc then the organizing people or the WAND group can probably answer them. People can probably also suggest possible themes, formats and speakers at this point as well. Personally I vote for an on-site Masseuse. Email to me (I can summarized or forward) , the list or whoever. -- Simon J. Lyall. | Very Busy | Mail: simon(a)darkmere.gen.nz "To stay awake all night adds a day to your life" - Stilgar | eMT.
Simon, We'd be happy to host NZNOG 06 at VUW if Wellington is seen as a reasonable venue. We know there are those who might prefer more "neutral - driving distance from Auckland" ground, so won't be offended if the venue goes to someone else. InternetNZ will be hosting an ICANN meeting in Wellington from 27 to 31 March 2006. The Pacific Festival of the Arts is also in Welly until 26 March. So perhaps immediately after the ICANN meeting, on 1st / 2nd April, we could have some world class speakers available. If VUW's offer is accepted, perhaps we could co-ordinate these events? It would seem to me a great opportunity for NOGgers to have access to some of the "thought leaders" from the IETF, IAB, ISOC, IANA, and ICANN... Keith Davidson President - InternetNZ Peter wrote:
