Since its Friday, here is a little snippet relayed on from another list....and to confirm rumours - I do have a GbE network at home. Actually there are 3 GbE - me and my machines 100Mbps - the family 10mbps - Jeremy (who gets punished for doing 5GB of DSL traffic to Napster) + the neighbours http://www.iec.org/tutorials/opt_ethernet/images/figure05.jpg and just so you know how REAL this is, the 10Gig crew are starting forming the 100Gig group...... richard.naylor(a)citylink.co.nz --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
Please do not start a "Mine is faster than your's" Home network thread. I'd hate to have to drag the M160 with the Oc192 blades home for a while On Fri, May 11, 2001 at 10:58:54AM +1200, Richard Naylor wrote:

Richard is the only person who is allowed to start those kinds of threads, because there is nobody in the world who can compete with him.

You can't win, Darth. Richard will just pull some more fibre, and grow more powerful than you can possibly imagine. Joe --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

Hey when GbE NICs cost US149 and switches are US299 what would you do, and remember in my suburb, "network neighbourhood" really means it.

just where did you think I stored those 144 core fiber off cuts :-) and for those who wondered, after I got the $1000 DSL bill, and I searched Jeremy's disk drive, he visited his bank. Of course for security reasons I backed those MP3s up to my server ;-) richard.naylor(a)citylink.co.nz --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
