I just checked it just now, with the date set at 2021 you get an 'invalid arguement' error when trying to resynch.. i manually set it back and resynched...

Yep - just turned on my Garmin II+ and it looks fine. So I'm inclined to agree that it's a Trutime problem rather than a generic GPS issue.
Also interesting to note that linux ntp just looked at bigben and said "PFFFT right - not believeing you anymore" and went to an anternate server.
