Workshop on Broadband Networks January
Networks-99 sponsored by WAND (Waikato Applied Network Dynamics) Research Group The University of Waikato 21 - 22 January 1999 On the 21st and 22nd January 1999 the third New Zealand ATM and Broadband Workshop will be held at the University of Waikato in Hamilton. The workshop is a forum for the discussion and dissemination of information, ideas and research into broadband issues, including the Internet. Topics at previous workshops have ranged from connecting a doorbell to an ATM network to the statistics of self-similar traffic on the Internet. The first day of the conference comprises two tutorials entitled "Introduction to TCP/IP" and " The Ubiquitous Internet as Seen from Silicon Valley". The second tutorial will be presented by Dr. David Jefferson from the Compaq Network Systems Laboratory at Palo Alto. The second day will contain presentations from Industry in the morning followed by research papers in the afternoon. The cost is $100 for each tutorial and $50 for the conference itself.
