Hi all, People who are receiving IP space from Global Gateway would be well advsied to check that their IP addresses have not been hijacked by Xtra: bash-2.05b# nslookup 210.55.169.1 Note: nslookup is deprecated and may be removed from future releases. Consider using the `dig' or `host' programs instead. Run nslookup with the `-sil[ent]' option to prevent this message from appearing. Looks like the IP Addresses which where allocated to you via GG where once given to Xtra to use and then reallocated to you later on. Getting the Reverse DNS changed is easy enough by contacting your Contact @ GG (or your ISP who allocated your IP addresses to you) Has 169.55.210.in-addr.arpa. been allocated to your Name Servers in the past? You can't just presume that they are pointing no where or to your Name Servers. _unless_ it was working.. and then changed.. Thanks Craig Whitmore

They have been allocated to us and they were working fine.

When did this start happening? Feel free to call me, email me or whatever so we can sort this out. At 11:59 19/11/03, Michael Hallager wrote:

Problem not with Xtra, to my knowledge they have never needed to highjack
anyones IP space.
Problem at Global-Gateway and occured when I migrated 55.210.in-addr.arpa
from APNIC to GGIS servers.
The IP's in question are actually a part of Xtra IP space and should have
been returned years ago. This is a discussion that we will now have with
Maxnet.
