Hi, We are looking to assist the schools and businesses of Christchurch, many of whom have to relocate after devastating quake damage. We would appreciate any surplus network equipment that you can give. (any brand is acceptable) We aim to have equipment sent to our research centre (AT Labs) in Riccarton, Christchurch. There we will make sure the equipment is in good working order and put it into a pool of product to be used by the Ministry of Education (Jennifer Dixon) and the Greater Christchurch Schools Trust (Mike Hilliard). Any surplus after this will be allocated to others in need, including businesses, health centres etc. Everyone donating product will have their names published on our AT website. Equipment needed includes: Switches Routers Media Converters GBICs We welcome all brands of equipment. Hey guys, I would probably specify a little better what type of equipment you want otherwise you could end up with a massive pile of garbage that you will have to figure out how to dispose of at some point. I'd suggest listing some minimum models of the key vendors. Just as a case in point. The Salvation Army, during their normal Christmas Appeal, received so much junk that it cost them millions to dispose of all the actual garbage. They advised people that "Don't give us your garbage – give us what you would still use, just don't have a need for'.
