Greetings to all
This is an update on where we are with the roll-out.
As Andrew Jamieson notified earlier today, we have made good progress, but unfortunately we have been struck with a number of problems effectively outside our control, especially power cuts which (while they haven't done any damage to the servers) have made it very difficult for staff to connect to the systems for testing. The situation was compounded by a major fire alarm which also happened this morning!
I'd like to make it clear to all concerned that the power cuts mentioned above were not at the Telstra Saturn telehousing facilities where the Domainz system is housed in Auckland and Wellington. Both facilities have UPS and generator back up and no failure occurred at the nodes.

My apologies for tardy response to this, but I must just reinforce Andy's comments above, and I apologise for not making it clear in the first place that Telstra Saturn's facilities were not in any way involved in the problems we experienced over the weekend. The system is now running live in a highly secure (in every sense of the word) environment at Telstra Saturn in both Wellington and Auckland, and we have full faith in the robustness of this environment. The problems I originally referred to were confined to Advantage Group's Wellington office, where the development team is based and where building alterations are concurrently taking place (outside our control). The Advantage folks were obviously essential to the roll-out, and it was basically their workstations that were affected by the power problems (which, BTW, were not caused by lack of UPS. Advantage _do_ have good UPS coverage, but any UPS is only as good as its battery supply. In this case we were not dealing with an outage on the part of the electricity supplier - typically over in >1 hour - but with a building-specific problem. At night on a weekend <sigh>). Mr Murphy was certainly working overtime last weekend. Sorry for any inadvertent slur, Andy. Not intended.
