I guess most of you know about Net4U getting disconnected already, but for those who haven't heard, errm, Net4U has been disconnected. Completely. Looks like neither staff nor customers were told about the disconnection. Sahil hasn't returned my calls. Has anyone been told what he intends to do next? -- Juha

Is there a connection between Net4U and thenet.co.nz, quicker.net.nz et al? A traceroute to their name servers ends in: 13 pos4-0-0-155M.ar1.AKL1.gblx.net (203.192.136.110) 101.809 ms 101.928 ms 85.043 ms 14 pos5-0-0-155M.ar1.akl1.gblx.net (203.192.166.46) 85.131 ms 90.458 ms 86.221 ms 15 Net4U.ar1.akl1.gblx.net (203.192.166.138) 64.275 ms 63.985 ms 89.196 ms 16 * * * 17 * * * after a trip thru Optus in AU. Registry details etc didn't seem to mention Net4U or its perpetrators anywhere, so I'm kinda wondering. Is the disconnection likely to be permanent? -- don
