All, I just thought this is amusing that in CSI: New York – Season 7, Episode 17, they do a 'Remote Desktop' hack and they enter in the following details… http://www.eintellego.net/public/CSINY.s07e17-fakev6.jpg Promoting IPv6 = Win! Dodgy Address = Fail! But seriously… That a show is actually using IPv6 addressing (or pretending to) is an awesome thing in my opinion. …Skeeve -- Skeeve Stevens, CEO - eintellego Pty Ltd - The Networking Specialists skeeve(a)eintellego.netmailto:skeeve(a)eintellego.net ; www.eintellego.net Phone: 1300 753 383 ; Fax: (+612) 8572 9954 Cell +61 (0)414 753 383 ; skype://skeeve facebook.com/eintellego or eintellego(a)facebook.commailto:eintellego(a)facebook.com twitter.com/networkceoau ; www.linkedin.com/in/skeeve PO Box 7726, Baulkham Hills, NSW 1755 Australia -- eintellego - The Experts that the Experts call - Juniper - HP Networking - Cisco - Brocade - Arista - Allied Telesis

That's pretty common with IPv4 addresses. Note that the IPv4 address is in DoD space, and does not appear in BGP. That was almost certainly intentional. It's like putting 555 in phone numbers. -- Nathan Ward

Promoting 6to4 in fact ;-) So cool - one of my RFCs on CSI.
Dodgy Address = Fail!
Clearly another argument to be added to draft-troan-v6ops-6to4-to-historic. Brian
