Juniper EX-series switches & flash memory
Hi all, We've acquired a few EX-series switches recently and are a bit unimpressed at how they deal with power outages. Not wanting to trash talk here, just keen to see if anyone else is seeing this problem and ways they're dealing with this, off-list replies appreciated. Cheers Sam
Are you running the latest jloader boot code ? there was an issue identified a couple of years ago that meant they could brick themselves if they were writing to the flash during a power outage that was fixed with new boot code. As with all network gear you should be running supported firmware. A good gust of wind will cause then to boot from secondary...
request system snapshot slice alternate for victory.
Thanks,
Jed.

There's a few things to help.
1) request system snapshot slice alternate, as suggested above.
2) turn logging off locally (so hopefully it won't be writing to disk
when the power fails)
3) keep a recovery image on the USB inserted into the device
5) use JTAC recommended releases -

4) don't lose power /s
